Construction Progress Documentation

Prove what the site looked like.
Before, during, and after.

A pre-construction baseline is the cheapest insurance on your job — when the neighbor claims your excavator cracked their driveway, a timestamp ends the argument. Then scheduled aerial flights keep a dated record of everything your crews build, including the work about to be buried.

$349 baseline  ·  $199–$299 per progress flight

Why the baseline pays for itself

Claims land months later. Timestamps don’t forget.

“That fence was fine before you started.” Cracked driveways next door. Pre-existing ruts blamed on your trucks. These claims arrive long after mobilization, when nobody remembers and nothing was photographed — and undefended, they cost you deductibles, premiums, and time.

Adjacent-property protection

Every neighboring exterior — driveways, fences, siding, walks — documented and timestamped before your first truck arrives. Damage claims get answered with photos, not arguments.

Site conditions on record

Grade, drainage, access routes, and existing structures captured before ground breaks — the reference point for everything that happens after, from change orders to erosion questions.

Covered work, before it’s covered

Waterproofing, drain tile, rebar, rough-ins — photographed on schedule before backfill and close-in, so “was it done right?” has a dated answer years later.

Owners & lenders see progress

A dated aerial series from fixed vantage points backs your draw requests and keeps owners’ reps off the phone — they can see exactly what got done, when.

How it works

The job documents itself.

1

Pre-construction baseline

Before mobilization: the site, access routes, and neighboring property exteriors — timestamped and organized into your defense file.

2

Scheduled progress flights

Weekly, biweekly, or monthly — same fixed vantage points every visit, so each report compares directly to the last one.

3

The project record

One dated archive from first dig to closeout — draw support, covered-work proof, dispute defense, and finished-job marketing shots.

Pricing

Per site, per flight. One line item on the job.

Start with the baseline; add progress flights at whatever cadence fits the schedule. A 6-month build with baseline, monthly flights, and closeout runs about $2,450.

Need the whole site measured, not just photographed?

A site orthomosaic stitches the flight into one overhead image of the entire site, to scale — so you can pull distances, areas and counts straight off it for planning, staging and takeoffs. The RTK tier is geo-referenced for engineering coordination and as-builts. Flown on the same visit as a progress flight, it costs less than a separate trip. See site orthomosaic maps → Neither tier is a survey. Nothing we produce is certified, sealed or stamped, and none of it establishes boundaries or lot lines.

Rates cover single sites up to ~5 acres; larger sites and multi-site programs are quoted individually. No contracts — schedule flight to flight, or set the cadence once and forget it.

$349
Before you break ground

One unfounded damage claim from a neighboring property can cost you a deductible, a premium bump, and weeks of back-and-forth. A $349 baseline flown before mobilization ends that argument with a timestamp — and it’s deductible as a job cost.

Who orders these

Built for whoever carries the risk

Municipal and public works projects are welcome — we’ve done corridor documentation for a Tri-State town. Tell us the project and we’ll tell you honestly what’s worth flying and what isn’t.

Straight answers

The questions GCs ask first

Is any of this a survey?

No. Docu-Fly is not a licensed surveying firm and does not provide land surveying services. That holds for the progress flights, the baseline, and both orthomosaic tiers. Nothing we produce is certified, sealed or stamped, and none of it may be used to establish boundaries, corners, easements or legal descriptions. RTK improves accuracy; it does not confer professional certification. If your project needs certified data or a recorded boundary, hire a surveyor — we’ll happily hand them our imagery, and it usually makes their job faster.

Can you fly an active jobsite?

Yes, and we do it most weeks. Flights are scheduled around your operations and coordinated so we’re not working over active crews — that’s a safety requirement, not a preference. Tell us when your quiet windows are and we’ll take them. Our pilots are FAA Part 107 certified and we carry commercial liability coverage; the certificate goes to your office on request.

What happens when weather blows the flight window?

We reschedule at no charge. Drone work is weather-dependent, and we’d rather move the date than fly in conditions that give you a record you can’t use. On a recurring cadence we hold the schedule — a weather day shifts that flight, it doesn’t skip it.

Do we have to commit to a cadence?

No contracts and no minimums. Most builders book a single baseline, look at what comes back, and decide about progress flights from there. You can change cadence mid-project or stop entirely — the archive stays yours either way.

Our site is bigger than five acres. Or we have four of them.

Then it’s a quote rather than a rate. Published prices cover single sites up to about five acres, which fits most residential and light commercial work around here. Send the addresses and the schedule and we’ll price the route — multi-site programs usually come in below the per-site total because the flights batch.

Who owns the imagery?

You do. The reports and the photo files are yours to keep, forward and use — hand them to an owner, a lender, a subcontractor or an attorney without asking us. We keep a copy on file so you can request the archive again years later, which is the point of a warranty-period record.

Breaking ground soon? Book the baseline first.

Tell us about your project and mobilization date — we’ll fly the baseline before your first truck arrives, and you can judge the rest from that first report. No contracts, no minimums.
